Flare Nut Wrenches
Flare Nut Wrenches
A flare nut wrench, sometimes referred to as a line wrench or a brake wrench, has a different shape that allows you to grab a flare nut on a line better. It is open-ended so that you can slide it on and off a line, such as a brake line, that is connected to something. The nuts are hexagonal, so the flare nut wrench has six distinct sides.
Most flare nut wrench heads have a 15-degree angle and six or 12 points. If the flare nut wrench is double-sided, the heads face in the opposite direction of each other. The flare nut wrench also has more surface area to grab the nut since the nuts on compression fittings have more torque on them, and you don't want the wrench to slip and strip the nut. Abolox carries flare wrenches in many SAE and metric sizes. We also carry adjustable flare nut wrenches in 6 and 12 points.
